The warm summer evening of 24th June 2024 was the setting for the inaugural derby match between our 'B' team and 'C' team involving 22 Much Wenlock league players.

The 'C' team, newly formed this year, play in division 6 of the Mid Shrops bowling league and the team members are gaining bucket loads of experience as every other week they visit greens which are completely new to them. The 'B'team, on the other hand, comprise experienced bowlers and finished in the top three of division 5 for the last two years. They currently lie 4th in the league just 1 shot off 3rd place and 6 shots off 2nd place.

It was always going to be a tough task for the 'C' team captained by Micheal Theobalds but the whole team put in a creditable performance with a number of excellent displays of bowling forcing the 'B' team to play at their best to get over the line.

The real winner on the night however was the club itself as plenty of members enjoyed spending a few hours together in beautiful surroundings. To see such a good number of budding stars honing their bowling skills augurs well for the future so well done everybody.
