Much Wenlock hosted the Wenlock Olympian Ladies and Mens Singles competitions on Saturday 22nd June and a host of local bowlers turned up to try to win the coveted gold medals on offer.

The standard of bowling was spectacular with quite a few games going the distance in the bright sunshine. Players were encouraged to play their best bowls by a vocal crowd keen to see their favorite progress in the competition.

Refreshments were on hand as usual with a brisk sale of toasted teacakes throughout the day.

Ladies winner was Jo Cohen who just pipped Vera Hodgetts for the title. Emmet McKinley won the Mens title with a narrow win over home club player Peter Gyldard. The trophies were awarded by competition organiser Bob Mumford.
